Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Terminal Illness
While terminally ill patients list pain as the most dreaded symptom, gastrointestinal (GI) problems are often more prevalent and challenging for caregivers to control. Work through the case examples as you learn about optimal management or the four common gastrointestinal symptoms in the terminally ill: Nausea and Vomiting, Anorexia, Bowel Obstruction and Bowel Care.

Coming Soon, this introductory module is the first in a series on pain in palliative care, and guides you through the assessment of pain using recommended, validated tools, supporting a team approach to ‘Total Pain’. The World Health Organization's recommended approach to the use of analgesics is reviewed, as myths and fears about opioid use are addressed.
